How can causal diagrams help researchers identify and communicate causal assumptions in Information Systems research?
The AIS Iranian Scholars Chapter (IRAIS) is pleased to invite you to our upcoming Methodology Workshop:
“Causal Inference Grounded in Causal Diagrams: Benefits, Limitations, and Opportunities for the Information Systems Field”
Causal diagrams and structural causal modeling (SCM) remain largely missing from IS research and PhD training. In this session, Dr. Ali Tafti (University of Illinois Chicago) and Dr. Galit Shmueli (National Tsing Hua University) will show how SCM can complement, rather than compete with, econometrics and potential outcomes approaches, adding a clearer layer for identifying and communicating causal assumptions.
